Caregiver-Centered Care Education

In partnership with Caregiver-Centered Care initiative, a program of Applied Research & Innovation at the University of Alberta, Department of Family Medicine, Caregiving Worldwide Network (CWN) is proud to offer Caregiver-Centered Care Education, free online education designed for health and social care providers, students, policymakers, and anyone involved in the caregiving ecosystem.

Caregiver-Centered Care will help you learn how integrating caregiver-centered principles into your healthcare delivery can significantly improve patient outcomes, foster meaningful relationships, and set a new standard for excellence in care.

Transform Patient Care:

Become a Leader in Family Caregiver Support

Family caregivers are the cornerstone of our health and social care systems, providing essential, unpaid support to those with mental or physical challenges. Despite their critical role, caregivers often face overwhelming burdens, largely due to inadequate support and challenging interactions with health care systems. These courses aim to change that narrative by equipping healthcare providers with the skills and knowledge to engage caregivers as partners, reducing their burden and fostering a culture of mutual respect and support. By the end of these courses, learners will:

  • Understand the significance of family caregivers in healthcare.
  • Recognize and support the roles and responsibilities of family caregivers.
  • Foster positive relationships and communication with caregivers.
  • Collaborate effectively with caregivers for improved care outcomes.
  • Promote caregiver health and resilience.
  • Navigate and access essential services and support.
  • Reflect on and improve personal biases and interactions with caregivers.
  • Implement Caregiver-Centered Care principles in various healthcare settings.
